Vibration Engineer / NVH Analyst

Remotely
Full-time

Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end vibration and NVH investigations from concept through production release.

- Plan experimental modal analysis using shakers, impact hammers, and triaxial accelerometers.

- Build detailed finite-element models in Nastran or Abaqus; correlate FEA with experimental results.

- Design isolation mounts, tuned mass dampers, and composite laminates that knock down critical frequencies.

- Develop signal-processing scripts (MATLAB or Python) to distill large data sets into actionable insights.

- Author concise technical reports and present risk-mitigation strategies to engineering leadership.

- Mentor junior analysts in data acquisition, sensor placement, and equipment calibration.

- Partner with acoustics, durability, and controls teams to ensure holistic system performance.

- Support remote field testing — wind farms, test tracks, or client facilities — as needed.

Core Requirements

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, or closely related discipline.

- 5+ years specialized experience in vibration analysis, NVH, or structural dynamics.

- Proven mastery of LMS Test.Lab, Brüel & Kjær Pulse, plus at least one leading FEA solver.

- Strong grasp of signal processing, order tracking, and statistical energy analysis.

- Hands-on familiarity with accelerometers, LDVs, shakers, and multi-channel DAQ hardware.

- Demonstrated success reducing sound pressure levels and peak acceleration on complex assemblies.

- Confident communicator able to translate dense data into clear business decisions.

- U.S. work authorization.

Desirable Extras

- Automotive electric-drive or aircraft propulsion vibration experience.

- Certification in Condition Monitoring (ISO 18436) or Professional Engineer (PE).

- Scripting skills in LabVIEW or Julia for automated test rigs.

- Exposure to lightweight composite structures and additive-manufactured damping inserts.

What You’ll Influence

You will elevate customer comfort, extend component life, and unlock energy efficiencies. By blending analytical rigor with inventive hardware fixes, you’ll silence gear mesh whine in e-motors, curb blade flutter in wind turbines, and outwit casing buzz in consumer appliances—sparking measurable top-line growth for a technology-driven manufacturer committed to sustainable engineering.
