Key Responsibilities

- Design and model intricate structural systems for a variety of building types—including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.

- Perform comprehensive structural analysis and calculations for gravity, seismic, and wind loads using advanced software like ETABS, SAP2000, and RISA-3D.

- Develop and prepare high-quality construction documents, including detailed drawings and specifications, utilizing Revit Structure and AutoCAD.

- Conduct thorough peer reviews of structural designs and calculations to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to project requirements.

- Engage in the assessment and forensic investigation of existing structures, preparing detailed condition assessment reports and recommendations for retrofitting.

- Review and approve contractor submittals and shop drawings to verify compliance with design intent and specifications.

- Coordinate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams—including architects, MEP engineers, and civil engineers—to deliver integrated and cohesive project solutions.

- Ensure all designs rigorously comply with current building codes and standards, such as the International Building Code (IBC), ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.

- Conduct periodic site inspections during construction to monitor progress and confirm work is executed according to the construction documents.

- Prepare clear and concise technical reports, feasibility studies, and project correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.


Qualifications & Expertise

- A Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required.

- You possess a minimum of five years of progressive experience focused on the structural design of buildings or related structures within the A/E/C industry.

- Demonstrated proficiency with premier structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RISA-3D, or RAM Structural System) is essential.

- Your background includes expert-level skill in producing comprehensive construction documents using Revit Structure and AutoCAD.

- You have an in-depth, practical knowledge of U.S. building codes and standards, particularly IBC and ASCE 7.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary for preparing detailed reports and effectively coordinating with diverse project teams.


Preferred Credentials

- A Master's Degree in Structural Engineering is highly regarded.

- Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license in at least one U.S. state is strongly preferred.

- Prior experience with performance-based design, seismic retrofitting, or forensic engineering projects would be a significant advantage.

- Familiarity with advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration platforms.

- Project management experience, including overseeing budgets and schedules for structural engineering tasks, is a plus.
