We are a dynamic and growing engineering consultancy dedicated to delivering excellence and innovation in the built environment. Our culture is founded on collaboration, continuous learning, and empowering our engineers to take ownership of their work. By joining us, you become part of a team that values technical mastery and creative problem-solving, working on projects that shape communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive structural analysis and prepare detailed calculation packages for steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
- Execute sophisticated modeling and analysis for gravity, lateral (wind and seismic), and other load conditions using state-of-the-art software such as RISA-3D, ETABS, and Enercalc.
- Develop and oversee the creation of precise structural drawings, construction documents, and technical specifications, primarily utilizing Revit and AutoCAD for seamless BIM integration.
- Liaise directly with architects, MEP engineers, BIM modelers, and drafting teams to ensure design cohesion and proactively resolve potential constructability issues before they reach the field.
- Conduct thorough reviews of shop drawings and submittals to guarantee alignment with design intent and project specifications.
- Drive value engineering initiatives by proposing alternative materials, connections, and structural systems to optimize project costs and schedules without compromising safety or quality.
- Prepare and manage documentation for permitting, responding to comments from building officials to ensure timely project approvals.
- Serve as a technical authority on material properties and connection design, providing guidance to junior staff and project stakeholders.
Core Qualifications and Competencies
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis is required; a Master’s degree is highly advantageous.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in the structural design of buildings and other structures within the US market.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in at least one state is strongly preferred. Candidates with an EIT certification and a clear, imminent path to P.E. licensure will be considered.
- Expert-level proficiency with structural analysis software is essential—you live and breathe tools like RISA-3D, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar platforms.
- Advanced command of BIM and drafting software, particularly Revit Structure and AutoCAD, is non-negotiable.
- In-depth, practical knowledge of modern U.S. building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360).
- Demonstrable experience in reviewing and interpreting geotechnical reports to inform foundation design.
- Exceptional analytical skills combined with an unwavering attention to detail... you notice the details that others miss.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex engineering concepts to non-technical audiences.
