Solar Performance Engineer
We are a forward-thinking leader in the renewable energy sector, managing a diverse and growing portfolio of utility-scale solar assets. Our team is composed of industry experts dedicated to maximizing the value and impact of clean energy investments through meticulous analysis and innovative operational strategies. By joining us, you will contribute to a sustainable future while advancing your career in a dynamic, data-driven environment focused on technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive performance analysis for a large portfolio of utility-scale solar PV assets using advanced monitoring platforms (e.g., GPM, AlsoEnergy, PowerFactors).
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex underperformance issues—including soiling, degradation, inverter faults, and tracker anomalies—through rigorous root cause analysis.
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies for performance optimization and asset enhancement to increase energy yield and revenue.
- Ensure the integrity and availability of high-quality data streams from SCADA and Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) for precise analysis.
- Create and present insightful performance reports, articulating key performance indicators (KPIs) like availability, performance ratio (PR), and specific yield to both technical and financial stakeholders.
- Utilize your programming skills in Python or R and advanced SQL to manipulate, query, and analyze vast operational datasets.
- Model expected energy production using PVSyst, comparing projections against actual performance to quantify and investigate deviations.
- Collaborate closely with O&M providers to coordinate field activities, validate the effectiveness of repairs, and track corrective actions via CMMS platforms.
