Solar Mechanical Design Engineer (Tracker Systems)
We seek a creative problem-solver to drive innovation in solar technology. This position offers potential remote flexibility.
What you'll do:
- Own the mechanical design of solar tracker systems, including kinematics and drive mechanisms.
- Run FEA simulations in ANSYS to analyze stress, fatigue, and thermal performance.
- Design all system components from gears to mounting hardware using SolidWorks or CATIA.
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure your designs are manufacturable and easy to assemble.
- Oversee wind tunnel testing and interpret data to validate designs against extreme weather.
- Develop test plans and conduct failure analysis (FMEA) to find weak spots before they become a problem.
What we're looking for:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- A strong practical understanding of kinematics, multi-body dynamics, and materials science.
- Proficiency with Finite Element Analysis for real-world applications.
- Expert-level skills in 3D modeling with SolidWorks or CATIA.
- Hands-on experience using ANSYS for complex simulations.
- Experience with MATLAB or Adams is a significant plus.
