Key Responsibilities

- Manage the end-to-end utility interconnection process for a diverse portfolio of solar and energy storage projects.

- Prepare and submit meticulous interconnection applications to various utilities across different ISO/RTO territories.

- Serve as the primary technical point of contact—fostering strong, collaborative relationships with utility engineers and project managers.

- Conduct preliminary grid impact and feasibility screenings using industry-standard software to assess project viability and identify potential constraints.

- Analyze and interpret complex power flow, short circuit, and stability studies (e.g., System Impact Studies, Facility Studies) from utilities.

- Negotiate favorable Interconnection Agreements (IAs), balancing technical requirements with project financial goals and schedules.

- Diligently track project queue positions, study timelines, and key milestones to proactively mitigate schedule risks and ensure project momentum.

- Provide critical engineering support and subject matter expertise to internal development, engineering, and construction teams on all interconnection matters.


Qualifications & Experience

- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field is required.

- You possess a minimum of 4 years of direct experience working as an Interconnection Engineer or in a similar grid integration role within the US energy market.

- Demonstrable expertise in navigating utility interconnection tariffs, processes, and technical requirements is essential. (Experience with FERC and NERC standards is highly desirable).

- Proficiency with power system modeling software is non-negotiable—specifically PSS/E. Significant experience with ETAP or CYME will set you apart.

- Exceptional project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently and consistently meet tight deadlines.

- Polished negotiation and communication abilities are paramount; you must be capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite for this position.
