Responsibilities

- Design holistic site layouts for commercial, residential, and institutional buildings—grading, paving, parking, and utility corridors.  

- Model stormwater conveyance and treatment systems; prepare SWPPP reports that satisfy federal, state, and municipal regulations.  

- Develop earthwork calculations, balance cut-and-fill, and recommend cost-effective soil stabilization measures.  

- Produce construction documents, details, and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam.  

- Coordinate boundary, topographic, and geotechnical surveys; translate field data into actionable design parameters.  

- Lead permitting strategy, draft entitlement packages, represent projects at public hearings, and negotiate agency comments.  

- Provide technical support during bidding and construction—respond to RFIs, review submittals, and perform periodic site visits.  

- Mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians, enforcing QA/QC standards and fostering knowledge transfer.  


Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; PE license (or ability to obtain within 12 months).  

- 5+ years designing building site or land development projects within the United States.  

- Mastery of AutoCAD Civil 3D workflows—surface modeling, corridors, pipe networks.  

- Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, or similar hydrologic/hydraulic tools.  

- Working knowledge of ArcGIS for data analysis and visualization.  

- Demonstrated success navigating NEPA, EPA, FEMA, and local zoning codes.  

- Strong written and verbal communication to craft reports and present to stakeholders.  

- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, balance field and office tasks, and work independently when remote.  


Preferred

- LEED AP or ENV SP accreditation.  

- Experience with Low-Impact Development (LID) and green infrastructure.  

- Familiarity with drone photogrammetry and point-cloud processing.
