Looking for a Senior Robotics Mechanical Engineer with 8+ years of experience.
Project: Automotive Manufacturing Systems
Location: USA, IL
About the role:
Engineer will lead the design and integration of robotic workcells for high-volume automotive assembly lines. You’ll work with industrial robots (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA), EOAT (end-of-arm tooling), and precision mechanical systems to optimize throughput and reliability.
Among responsibilities:
• Design and validate mechanical systems for robotic welding, material handling, and assembly automation.
• Perform FEA simulations (ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation) for structural and thermal loads.
• Lead DFM/DFA reviews with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
• Troubleshoot kinematic and dynamic issues in robotic workcells (e.g., vibration, misalignment).
• Collaborate with controls engineers on safety systems (ISO 10218, RIA/ANSI standards).
Requirements:
• MS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Robotics.
• 8+ years in industrial robotics (automotive/aerospace preferred).
• Expertise in CAD (SolidWorks, NX), GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Hands-on experience with PLC-integrated systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems and servo-driven actuators.
