Senior Automation Engineer – Robotics & Controls Leadership
You will own the architecture of enterprise-wide control systems, transform production lines, and safeguard capital investments exceeding $50 M. Your leadership will shape safety, uptime, and scalability targets that position the business as a market disruptor.
Responsibilities
– Craft and maintain a 3-year automation roadmap aligned with corporate objectives.
– Define control system architecture: PLC/PAC platforms, industrial networks, SCADA, robotics, and machine vision.
– Estimate project scope, budgets, and timelines; steer portfolio exceeding $10 M annually.
– Select and qualify vendors—robots, drives, sensors, and integration partners.
– Lead multidisciplinary project teams (10–20 engineers) through the full life-cycle using MS Project, Jira, and Confluence.
– Develop risk analyses (FMEA, HAZOP) and mitigation strategies for safety-critical machinery.
– Implement coding standards, simulation protocols, and continuous-improvement metrics.
– Mentor junior engineers, create training curricula, and champion a culture of technical excellence.
– Serve as expert witness or consultant when litigation or compliance reviews arise.
– Author executive briefings that justify CAPEX decisions and highlight ROI.
What You Bring
– Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Engineering.
– 10+ years in robotics and industrial automation; 5+ years in team leadership.
– Mastery of Rockwell, Siemens, or Beckhoff PLCs; proficiency in IEC 61131-3 languages.
– Hands-on experience with FANUC, ABB, or KUKA robots including advanced motion.
– Deep knowledge of NFPA 79, UL 508A, ISO 10218, and ANSI RIA safety standards.
– Strong command of SCADA (Ignition, FactoryTalk), OPC UA, MQTT, and IIoT protocols.
– Demonstrated success delivering multi-site projects on time and within budget.
– Fluency in MS Project, Jira, and Confluence; adept at dashboard reporting.
– Exceptional communication—able to translate technical risk into executive language.
– Eligibility to work in the United States; ability to travel up to 25 %.
