Company in AgTech field urgently search for Automation Engineer proficient with hydraulic power units. 


Location: Salinas, CA

Industry: Precision farming

Project description: AgTech startup developing autonomous field robots for crop monitoring and harvesting. 

Key task: You’ll design and deploy robotic systems for outdoor environments, integrating sensors, actuators, and AI-driven navigation.


And also: 


  • Develop ruggedized robotic platforms for soil sampling, weeding, and harvesting (ROS/ROS2 experience a plus).
  • Optimize mechatronic systems for harsh conditions (dust, moisture, variable terrain).
  • Lead testing of GNSS (RTK), LiDAR, and vision systems for localization.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on embedded hardware (CAN bus, motor controllers).
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards for autonomous machinery (ISO 18497).


Requirements are:


  • At least BS in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Robotics.
  • 5+ years in field robotics, off-road vehicles, or AgTech systems.
  • Proficiency in Python/C++ for embedded systems and sensor fusion.
  • Experience with hydraulic power units, electric tractors, or UAVs.
  • Familiarity with farm equipment (John Deere, CNH) or precision ag protocols (ISOBUS).
