Robotics Systems Engineer – Model-Based Systems Architect

Key Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end system architecture using SysML/UML within Cameo or Rhapsody.
- Decompose stakeholder needs into traceable, testable requirements in DOORS.
- Author Interface Control Documents and manage inter-disciplinary handshakes.
- Execute trade studies that balance performance, cost, safety, and schedule.
- Develop Verification & Validation plans aligned with the V-Model and ARP4754A.
- Drive Failure Modes & Effects Analysis… then close findings through design loops.
- Orchestrate system integration—hardware, firmware, control loops, HMI.
- Maintain Jira/Confluence backlogs; shepherd change across hybrid or remote teams.
- Present design reviews to executive, customer, and regulatory audiences.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s (or higher) in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Robotics Engineering.
- 5+ years crafting architectures for complex robotic or automated systems.
- Command of Model-Based Systems Engineering workflows and notation.
- Hands-on proficiency with SysML tools, requirements databases, and simulation (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Demonstrated application of V-Model, FMEA, ISO 26262, or similar safety frameworks.
- Strong analytical writing and verbal communication; able to translate technical nuance to non-experts.
Preferred Extras
- Exposure to autonomous navigation, sensor fusion, or real-time controls.
- Coding literacy in Python or C++ for rapid prototyping and data reduction.
- Experience certifying products under FDA, FAA, or DoD guidance.
- Familiarity with Agile-lean ceremonies and continuous integration pipelines.
