We are a team of collaborative professionals who thrive on solving complex challenges and delivering projects that make a tangible difference. Our culture supports continuous learning and professional growth, empowering our engineers to lead the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the geometric design of roadway projects, developing precise horizontal and vertical alignments using industry-leading software like OpenRoads and Civil 3D.
- Engineer complex intersections and multi-level interchanges, focusing on traffic flow optimization, multimodal access, and enhanced safety protocols.
- Develop comprehensive pavement designs and rehabilitation strategies for a range of roadway classifications, from local streets to major interstate highways.
- Prepare detailed plan and profile sheets, typical sections, and cross-sections that serve as the blueprint for construction activities.
- Conduct thorough earthwork analysis and calculate material quantities, ensuring project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure unwavering compliance with all governing design standards, especially the AASHTO Green Book and specific state Department of Transportation (DOT) manuals.
- Design crucial roadside safety features, including barrier systems, clear zones, and crash cushions, to protect the traveling public.
- Develop clear and logical construction staging and traffic control plans to minimize disruption during project execution.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (including structural, environmental, and drainage engineers) to deliver integrated and resilient infrastructure solutions.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state is strongly preferred, or the ability to obtain one.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience centered on roadway and highway design within A/E consulting, government, or a related sector.
- High proficiency with at least one of the primary design software suites: Bentley (MicroStation, OpenRoads, InRoads, Geopak) or Autodesk (AutoCAD Civil 3D).
- Demonstrated expertise in the principles of geometric design, including sight distance, superelevation, and alignment criteria.
- Profound understanding of pavement design methodologies, materials, and lifecycle analysis.
- Competency in performing earthwork calculations and developing mass haul diagrams.
- In-depth knowledge of traffic safety principles and the application of the Highway Safety Manual (HSM).
- Experience developing construction phasing plans and ensuring compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for public rights-of-way.
