Onshore Wind Engineer

Remotely
Full-time

We are a forward-thinking leader in the renewable energy sector, specializing in the development and execution of utility-scale wind power projects. Our team is composed of dedicated experts who are committed to advancing clean energy solutions and shaping a sustainable future. By joining us, you become part of an innovative culture that values technical excellence, collaborative problem-solving, and impactful work that truly matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Spearhead the detailed civil design of project infrastructure, including all-weather access roads, crane pads, and turbine erection areas to support heavy machinery and construction activities.

- Develop and optimize wind turbine foundation designs (including spread footings and rock anchors) using advanced structural analysis software like RISA-3D or STAAD.Pro.

- Oversee and interpret geotechnical investigations and comprehensive soil analysis reports to inform foundation design, mitigate subsurface risks, and ensure site feasibility.

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to refine turbine layouts, performing critical analysis for noise propagation and shadow flicker impacts using specialized modeling software like WindPro.

- Engineer comprehensive transportation and logistics plans for oversized and overweight turbine components, meticulously addressing route constraints and complex delivery challenges.

- Provide essential technical support for local, state, and federal permitting processes, ensuring all civil designs meet and exceed stringent regulatory compliance standards.

- Prepare, review, and stamp complete civil design packages, which include detailed drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents for EPC contractor bidding and execution.

- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for EPC contractors and construction management teams during the project execution phase, resolving design queries and ensuring adherence to specifications.

Qualifications & Expertise

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline is required; a Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly advantageous.

- A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in civil engineering, with a significant portfolio focused on land development, heavy infrastructure, or large-scale renewable energy projects.

- Demonstrated mastery in geotechnical engineering, particularly as it applies to soil-structure interaction and foundation design for heavy industrial or energy facilities.

- Proven ability to manage the civil design aspects of large-scale construction projects, from initial conceptual design and feasibility studies through to final commissioning.

- High proficiency with core design and analysis software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS platforms, and structural analysis tools (e.g., RISA-3D, STAAD.Pro).

- Direct experience with wind energy-specific software like WindPro and familiarity with noise and shadow flicker modeling is strongly preferred... though not a strict prerequisite for an otherwise exceptional candidate.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex logistical, environmental, and regulatory landscapes with sound engineering judgment.

- Superb written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing detailed technical reports and confidently presenting findings to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
