- Lead net-zero energy and zero-carbon building design and engineering.
- Integrate passive design strategies (orientation, massing, envelope optimization) from concept stage.
- Design high-efficiency MEP systems, with focus on HVAC and lighting.
- Conduct feasibility studies and design on-site renewable energy systems (e.g., PVSyst for solar).
- Develop and run whole-building energy models (EnergyPlus, IES VE, eQUEST) to guide design.
- Perform Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to minimize embodied carbon.
- Execute hygrothermal analysis (e.g., WUFI) for building envelope durability.
- Collaborate with project teams to achieve sustainability goals from design to completion.
- Prepare reports and presentations on energy performance and design strategies.
Core Qualifications

- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, or related; Master's preferred.
- Proficiency in energy modeling software (EnergyPlus or IES VE essential).
- Expert knowledge of building science, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
- Experience in renewable energy system design and modeling (e.g., PVSyst).
- Familiarity with BIM software (Revit) and integration with energy analysis.
- Professional certifications (LEED AP, CPHC, BEMP) preferred.
Desired Attributes
- Analytical problem-solver with data-driven approach.
- Exceptional communicator of technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Intrinsic passion for sustainability and decarbonization.
- Self-directed, able to manage multiple projects with high accuracy.
