Landscape Design Engineer – Sustainable Irrigation & Hardscape

Responsibilities
- Engineer irrigation systems that maximize water efficiency and meet regional codes.
- Produce grading plans, earthwork calculations, and retaining wall details for complex sites.
- Integrate bioswales and other stormwater management strategies into cohesive landscape designs.
- Specify soils, plant palettes, and hardscape materials that enhance long-term performance.
- Coordinate 2D/3D models in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Land F/X, and ArcGIS databases.
- Review shop drawings, answer RFIs, and resolve field issues during construction.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and sustainability narratives for municipal approvals.
- Mentor junior designers and present design rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering; current LA or PE license.
- 7+ years designing irrigation, grading, and hardscape systems for commercial or municipal projects.
- Mastery of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Land F/X, and at least one irrigation design platform.
- Proven track record integrating stormwater BMPs, green roofs, or living walls.
- Solid command of soil science, horticulture, and erosion control standards.
- Ability to deliver concise technical documentation and communicate with non-technical clients.
- Eligibility to work in the United States; remote collaboration across time zones welcomed.
Preferred Qualifications
- LEED AP or ENV SP accreditation.
- Experience with hydrologic modeling, ArcGIS geodatabases, and BIM coordination.
- Familiarity with photometric studies for landscape lighting.
- Spanish proficiency for bilingual project regions.
