Key Responsibilities

- Spearhead the complete mechanical (HVAC) design lifecycle for diverse, large-scale projects, from schematic design through construction administration.

- Orchestrate seamless coordination between HVAC systems and electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) disciplines, ensuring a unified design approach.

- Employ advanced BIM tools—primarily Revit and Navisworks Manage—to perform rigorous clash detection and resolution, proactively eliminating conflicts before construction begins.

- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, architects, and construction partners regarding all mechanical engineering matters.

- Direct the production of comprehensive construction documents, including specifications, calculations, and detailed drawings.

- Review and approve all mechanical and cross-disciplinary MEP submittals, ensuring compliance with design intent and project specifications.

- Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

- Champion the integration of sustainable design principles and energy-efficient solutions into all HVAC system designs.


Core Qualifications & Expertise

- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required.

- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in HVAC design for commercial, institutional, or large-scale residential buildings within the AEC industry.

- Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred and may be required depending on project scope.

- Expert-level proficiency in Revit and Navisworks Manage is non-negotiable. Strong skills in AutoCAD and familiarity with BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) are essential.

- A profound understanding of all building systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection) and their complex interdependencies.

- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience guiding project teams, either formally or informally.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Proven experience in comprehensive clash detection management and resolution within a BIM-centric workflow.
