HVAC Lead MEP Engineer
Key Responsibilities
– Lead the mechanical scope on projects from schematic design through turnover.
– Develop HVAC load calculations, equipment selections, and air distribution layouts in Revit.
– Conduct clash detection in Navisworks Manage and steer resolution meetings.
– Integrate HVAC models with electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a coordinated BIM deliverable.
– Review submittals and shop drawings across all MEP trades, flagging discrepancies promptly.
– Generate sequence-of-operation narratives that align with energy codes and ASHRAE standards.
– Maintain schedule alignment in MS Project, reporting progress to internal stakeholders.
– Represent mechanical interests in client meetings, presenting technical data clearly and persuasively.
Skills & Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
– 8+ years designing commercial HVAC systems in the United States.
– Proficiency in Revit, BIM 360/ACC, Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD.
– Demonstrated success conducting BIM clash detection and model coordination.
– Comprehensive knowledge of all building systems—mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
– Familiarity with energy modelling, psychrometrics, and ventilation standards.
– Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
– PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred.
