Core Responsibilities

- Spearhead the development of exhaustive material and labor take-offs by meticulously analyzing mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC construction drawings and specifications.

- Cultivate and leverage a robust network of suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive and timely pricing for all necessary equipment, materials, and services.

- Architect comprehensive and accurate project cost estimates—from conceptual budgets to detailed bid proposals—that form the financial backbone of our projects.

- Conduct rigorous risk analysis on project plans and specifications to identify potential financial exposures and opportunities for mitigation or strategic advantage.

- Collaborate closely with project managers and engineering teams during bid reviews, contributing critical insights to refine our bidding strategy and enhance win probability.

- Champion value engineering initiatives by proposing innovative, cost-effective alternatives to specified materials and methods without compromising system function or quality.

- Prepare and meticulously document complete bid packages, ensuring all client requirements, clarifications, and exclusions are clearly communicated.

- Manage the pricing and negotiation of change orders throughout the project lifecycle, protecting project margins while maintaining strong client relationships.


Essential Qualifications & Skills

- A minimum of 7 years of dedicated experience as an HVAC Estimator, Mechanical Estimator, or in a similar pre-construction engineering role within the US construction market.

- Proven mastery of industry-standard estimation software, including extensive experience with Trimble Accubid, McCormick Systems, or equivalent platforms.

- Advanced proficiency in digital takeoff tools (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift) and document management software, particularly Bluebeam Revu, for reviewing and marking up complex plans.

- Expert-level command of MS Excel for data analysis, budget creation, and the development of custom estimating worksheets.

- An exceptional ability to interpret complex construction drawings, schematics, and technical specifications for a wide range of mechanical and HVAC systems.

- Deep, practical knowledge of HVAC installation means and methods, including an understanding of current building codes, labor requirements, and industry best practices.

- Demonstrated an unwavering commitment to accuracy, with the ability to identify subtle discrepancies in complex project documents and ensure every detail is accounted for.

- Outstanding negotiation and communication skills, essential for building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

- You must be a self-directed professional capable of managing multiple, concurrent bidding deadlines in a fully remote work environment.
