Field Service Mechanical Engineer – Industrial Equipment Support
Industrial clients rely on us when every minute of downtime costs thousands. You will become their first-call expert, combining mechanical savvy with electrical insight and a passion for customer success.
Core Responsibilities
- Install and commission precision pumps, turbines, robotics, and auxiliary systems.
- Calibrate sensors and align rotating assemblies to 0.001-inch tolerances.
- Conduct emergency troubleshooting—onsite or through secure remote-access tools—within tight SLAs.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance, documenting torque settings, vibration trends, and replacement parts.
- Decode schematics, PLC I/O maps, and hydraulic diagrams to pinpoint root causes fast.
- Train operators and maintenance crews, turning technical jargon into plain English.
- Capture field data, then relay design feedback to R&D for continuous product improvement.
- Maintain strict EHS discipline; lead Job Safety Analyses before every task.
- Travel 70 %+, occasionally on short notice. Night shifts happen…yet you excel under pressure.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
- 5+ years servicing heavy industrial or energy conversion equipment.
- Mastery of hand tools, multimeters, laser alignment systems, and diagnostic software suites.
- Proven ability to read complex mechanical, electrical, and P&ID drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication—clear, concise, and customer-centric.
- Valid passport and unrestricted permission to work and travel within the USA.
- Physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and wear PPE for extended periods.
Preferred Plus
- Experience with gas turbines, solar trackers, or high-throughput robotics.
- Familiarity with VFDs, PLC ladder logic, and Modbus/TCP networks.
- ASME or AWS certification (welding, pressure vessels, NDT).
- Spanish language competence—safety briefings cross borders.
