Electrical Commissioning Engineer (Cx) - Power Systems

Your Mission & Responsibilities
- Develop and meticulously execute commissioning test scripts for a variety of electrical systems, including switchgear, UPS, generators, and VFDs.
- Oversee and document both factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT), ensuring equipment meets all specified requirements before integration.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools—like power quality analyzers and digital multimeters—to perform functional performance testing and rigorous system troubleshooting.
- Proactively identify, document, and track system deficiencies to a successful resolution using modern commissioning software (such as CxAlloy or Procore).
- Author comprehensive final commissioning reports that clearly communicate test results, system performance, and outstanding issues to all project stakeholders.
- Serve as the owner's representative for all commissioning activities, providing expert guidance and ensuring project goals are unequivocally met.
- Coordinate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams—including design engineers, construction managers, and facility operators—to facilitate a smooth and efficient commissioning process.
Required Qualifications & Expertise
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
- A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience as a Commissioning Engineer, Cx Agent, or Test Engineer with a clear focus on medium and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Profound understanding of the commissioning process as defined by ASHRAE Guideline 0 and the ACG Commissioning Guideline.
- Hands-on expertise in the functional performance testing of mission-critical electrical infrastructure, particularly within environments like data centers, healthcare, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Strong proficiency in troubleshooting complex electrical systems and interpreting one-line diagrams, control schematics, and technical submittals.
- Exceptional technical writing skills, with a proven ability to produce lucid and concise commissioning plans, scripts, and final reports.
Desired Attributes for Success
- Experience with retro-commissioning (RCx) projects for existing buildings, aimed at optimizing energy efficiency and operational performance.
- Deep familiarity with industry-specific safety standards, particularly NFPA 70E for electrical safety in the workplace and NFPA 110 for emergency power systems.
- Professional certification from a recognized industry body (ACG Certified Commissioning Authority - CxA, or a similar credential) is highly regarded.
- Adept at using contemporary commissioning management software (CxAlloy, BlueRithm, Procore) to manage project documentation and workflows efficiently.
- You must be a self-motivated individual capable of working independently, especially in remote or field-based settings, while consistently maintaining the highest standards of quality and communication.
