Key Responsibilities
- Plan and strategically design large-scale earthmoving operations for diverse projects in heavy civil, mining, and land development sectors.
- Execute precise cut-and-fill volume calculations, ensuring optimal site balancing and meticulous material management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop comprehensive mass grading plans and detailed construction sequencing to maximize operational efficiency and uphold the highest safety standards.
- Specify rigorous soil compaction requirements and oversee robust QA/QC programs, including various compaction testing methods and reporting.
- Design and direct the implementation of advanced soil stabilization and ground improvement strategies—especially for challenging geotechnical conditions.
- Manage complex construction dewatering plans and systems, leveraging your deep knowledge of hydrology to mitigate site water issues effectively.
- Conduct detailed mass haul analysis using tools like AGTEK to optimize heavy equipment usage, streamline logistics, and shorten project timelines.
- Collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams (including surveyors, structural engineers, and project managers) to ensure total design integrity from concept to completion.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is considered highly advantageous.
- A proven track record of 5+ years in a dedicated role as an Earthworks Engineer, Grading Engineer, or Geotechnical Engineer with a portfolio of large-scale projects.
- Expert-level proficiency in modern earthwork design software, specifically AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
- Deep, practical understanding of soil mechanics, advanced grading design principles, and slope stability analysis software.
- Tangible experience with heavy construction equipment, contemporary earthmoving methods, and their practical application in the field.
- You possess exceptional analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to interpret complex geotechnical reports and raw survey data to inform your designs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of articulating intricate technical plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
