Our consultancy delivers inventive shoreline protection, port planning, and habitat restoration for public and private owners across the United States.


Responsibilities

- Lead feasibility studies for seawalls, revetments, groynes, and offshore breakwaters.  

- Calculate wave loading, overtopping, and scour using Delft3D, STWAVE, CMS, and MIKE 21.  

- Develop beach-nourishment volumes, borrow-area plans, and sand-compatibility reports.  

- Design navigation channels and dredge-material management schemes that reduce shoaling.  

- Prepare contract drawings and specifications in AutoCAD Civil 3D—adhering to USACE standards.  

- Model sediment transport pathways; recommend adaptive measures for sea-level-rise scenarios.  

- Coordinate with geotechnical, structural, and ecological specialists to balance risk and habitat health.  

- Present findings to regulatory agencies and port authorities; defend design assumptions with clarity.  


Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s in Civil, Coastal, or Ocean Engineering.  

- 5+ years designing coastal protection or port infrastructure in accordance with ASCE and PIANC guidance.  

- Proficiency in at least two hydrodynamic modeling suites (Delft3D, MIKE 21, CMS, or ACES).  

- Command of wave mechanics, littoral drift, and geotechnical stability.  

- Strong AutoCAD drafting and technical-memo writing skills.  

- Ability to perform occasional field inspections and bathymetric data reviews.  


Preferred Credentials

- Master’s degree focusing on coastal processes.  

- PE license or ability to obtain within 18 months.  

- Experience with jetty rehabilitation, living-shoreline projects, or beneficial-use dredging.  

- Familiarity with FEMA coastal flood mapping and numerical storm-surge models such as ADCIRC.
