Responsibilities  

- Lead multidisciplinary site planning from concept through final construction documents.  

- Model grading and earthwork in AutoCAD Civil 3D—balance cut/fill, safeguard ADA slopes.  

- Size stormwater infrastructure using HEC-RAS, StormCAD, EPA-SWMM, and low-impact BMPs.  

- Design potable water, sanitary sewer, reclaimed water, and fire-protection networks.  

- Generate roadway, parking lot, and pedestrian circulation plans that meet AASHTO guidelines.  

- Prepare erosion-and-sediment control plans; draft SWPPPs compliant with NPDES.  

- Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical consultants, traffic engineers, and landscape architects.  

- Compile entitlement packages, respond to agency comments, shepherd permits to approval.  

- Mentor junior designers; perform QA/QC reviews to maintain zero-change-order ethos.  

- Present technical findings at public hearings and virtual stakeholder workshops.  


Qualifications  

- Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Land Development or Environmental Engineering is advantageous.  

- Active PE license (or ability to obtain within 12 months) in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.  

- 6 + years crafting commercial, industrial, or municipal sites—across greenfield and infill projects.  

- Command of AutoCAD Civil 3D corridors, surfaces, and pipe networks; proficiency in Bluebeam for markups.  

- Working knowledge of ArcGIS, BIM 360, and drone-based surveying workflows.  

- Solid grasp of hydrologic/hydraulic principles, FEMA floodplain mapping, and green infrastructure mandates.  

- Familiarity with International Building Code, ADA Standards, and LEED v4 ND prerequisites.  

- Persuasive written and verbal communication—capable of distilling dense technical data for non-engineer audiences.  

- Self-directed mindset to excel in distributed teams, manage deadlines across time zones.  


Nice-to-Have  

- Experience with renewable energy sites (solar arrays, battery storage).  

- Certification as Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or ENV SP.  

- Python or VBA scripting to automate Civil 3D tasks.
