Civil Construction Project Engineer – Scheduling & QA/QC Expert
Lead earthwork, utilities, and structural packages using Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and AutoCAD.
Responsibilities
- Interpret drawings, specs, and BIM models; translate them into executable field activities.
- Develop CPM schedules in Primavera P6 and short-interval look-ahead plans; update progress daily.
- Track cost, quantity, and cash flow curves—flag variances before they hurt margin.
- Coordinate subcontractors, survey crews, and inspectors; chair weekly pull-planning meetings.
- Draft and close RFIs, submittals, and change orders; uphold contract law and claim avoidance.
- Conduct site walks to verify means & methods, OSHA compliance, and quality benchmarks.
- Lead root-cause analysis when deviations surface; deploy corrective actions immediately.
- Approve pay applications, material invoices, and progress photos for owner reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (PE or EIT preferred).
- 4+ years supervising heavy civil or vertical concrete projects ≥ $20 M.
- Mastery of Procore workflows, Bluebeam markup sets, and P6 scheduling logic.
- Working knowledge of Trimble GPS layout, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MS Project.
- Proven record enforcing QA/QC plans and OSHA 29 CFR 1926 safety standards.
- Command of contract language—lump-sum, GMP, and design-build delivery.
- Analytical mindset, concise communication, and decisive leadership in the field.
