FEMAP CFD AS9100 GD&T CAD

An opening for CAD Design Engineer, specializing in spacecraft and satellite structural design.


Work location: Los Angeles, CA

Employment type: On-site, full-time

Salary Range: Based on expertise


Responsibilities:


  • Design and optimize lightweight composite and metallic structures using CATIA V5.
  • Develop CAD models for flight hardware, including brackets, panels, and propulsion systems.
  • Perform stress analysis (FEMAP, NASTRAN) and support structural testing.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, GD&T, and aerospace tolerancing standards.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers to meet mass, thermal, and vibration requirements.


Qualifications:


  • Master’s in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6+ years of aerospace CAD design experience (spacecraft, UAVs, or aircraft).
  • Expertise in CATIA V5, Siemens NX, Creo Parametric.
  • Knowledge of composite materials (carbon fiber, honeycomb structures).
  • Understanding of aerospace manufacturing.


Preferred:


  • Experience with CFD or thermal analysis tools.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
