CAD Design Engineer – Remote Drafting & Detailing Specialist

Responsibilities
- Generate detailed 2D/3D drawing packages from engineering concepts, sketches, and point-cloud data.
- Interpret redlines, markups, and as-built notes—implement changes within tight turnaround windows.
- Maintain rigorous revision control, version naming, and archive protocols.
- Audit drawing sets for ASME Y14.5, ISO, and client-specific standards.
- Build and manage large multi-discipline assemblies while optimizing file performance.
- Extract, verify, and reconcile Bills of Materials; flag discrepancies proactively.
- Collaborate with structural, HVAC, electrical, and civil stakeholders to resolve clashes.
- Document fabrication details, tolerances, weld symbols, GD&T, and surface finishes.
- Contribute to continuous‐improvement initiatives—template libraries, macros, and automated scripts.
- Communicate progress in crisp status reports using clear, visual metrics.
Requirements
- 5+ years in CAD drafting/design within construction, energy, or manufacturing environments.
- Expert user of at least one core platform: AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Inventor.
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks, or comparable review tools.
- Deep grasp of ASME Y14.5 GD&T; able to coach others on tolerancing logic.
- Familiar with data-management systems (Vault, BIM 360, PDM Pro).
- Accustomed to remote collaboration—Teams, Slack, cloud repositories.
- Keen eye for minute geometric detail; zero tolerance for title-block or BOM errors.
- Capacity to juggle multiple project schedules without missing milestones.
- Comfortable reading mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil schematics.
- U.S. work authorization and fluent professional English.
