Avionics Engineer – Flight Electronics & Systems

An independent aerospace electronics studio pioneering resilient, lightweight, and eco-efficient avionics for civil, defense, and commercial operators worldwide. The team blends veteran certification engineers with fresh, inventive minds to accelerate cleaner skies.

Responsibilities

- Architect end-to-end avionics system designs (power-up to shutdown) while meeting DO-254 and DO-178C objectives.

- Model requirements in DOORS and SysML, translating stakeholder intent into verifiable specifications.

- Develop MATLAB/Simulink simulations that predict performance under extreme flight envelopes.

- Create robust interface control documents for ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN-Aerospace, and Ethernet-based buses.

- Plan and execute hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop verification campaigns.

- Drive Failure Hazard Analyses, FMEA, and quantitative safety assessments to substantiate DAL-A/B claims.

- Build custom test rigs with LabVIEW and embedded scripting—then automate regression suites for continuous certification artifacts.

- Liaise with certification authorities, preparing compliance data, trace matrices, and conformity inspection packages.

- Diagnose flight-line anomalies swiftly, leading cross-functional tiger teams to root cause and corrective action.

- Mentor junior engineers; instill systems-thinking discipline across electrical, mechanical, and software cohorts.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering.

- 5+ years designing safety-critical avionics; portfolio includes RTCA DO-254 Level A/B hardware and DO-178C Level A/B software projects.

- Mastery of requirements tools (DOORS Next), MBSE/SysML environments, and version-controlled development workflows.

- Proficiency with Simulink, LabVIEW, and bus analyzers for ARINC 429 & MIL-STD-1553 traffic.

- Solid grounding in EMC/EMI mitigation, power integrity, and PCB layout for aerospace constraints.

- Demonstrated success performing FHA, FTA, and common-cause analyses to SAE ARP4761 methodology.

- Adept at C/C++ or VHDL for embedded targets; Python for test automation is a plus.

- Eligibility to handle ITAR/EAR data; US citizenship or permanent residency frequently required in defense programs.

- Clear, persuasive communicator—able to translate technical nuance into executive-level decisions.

What Awaits You

- Participation in next-generation eVTOL, UAV, and deep-space missions.

- Influence over the full product life-cycle—from whiteboard sketch to first flight and beyond.

- Culture that prizes continuous learning, cross-disciplinary curiosity, and work-life flexibility.
