Lead Programmer and Coordinator
2013 - 2014 |KUKA Systems, BMW Mini
ABB robots, Robot programming
● Self-employed contract (JB Robotics). ● I was appointed lead programmer for a long term phase of integration for KUKA. ● Over a 14 month period I had to co-ordinate integration and commissioning works for a team of 4 programmers including myself. ● I was responsible for 283 robots, this was in preparation for the Mini countryman.
Robot Programmer
2013 - 2013 |FFT, BMW Mini
ABB robots, BMW LU standard
● Self-employed contract (JB Robotics). ● Commissioning robots to the BMW LU standard for the launch of the Mini.
Robot Programmer
2012 - 2012 |VDL Steelweld, Jaguar Cars
ABB S4C, ABB robots
● Self-employed contract (JB Robotics). ● I was part of a team responsible for producing the first off prototype F-type Jaguars and the introduction of the model onto the existing XK line. ● This job comprised of installing new equipment and robots as well as utilizing older technologies and S4C's.
Robot Programmer
2012 - 2012 |KUKA Systems, Jaguar Land Rover
ABB robots
● Self-employed contract (JB Robotics). ● This was the re-installation and commission of the closure lines. ● During this time we also integrated the second model. ● The L494 Range rover sport.
Robot Programmer
2011 - 2011 |BMW
ABB robots
● Self-employed contract (JB Robotics). ● During my time in Augsburg I was asked by the lead automation engineer to assist with their team at the BMW plant in Regensburg. ● Kuka had previously installed a large portion of the production facility and they were working the weekends to optimize and integrate changes to current manufacturing.
Robot Programmer
2011 - 2011 |KUKA Systems
ABB robots, Self-piercing rivets, Roller hemming
● Self-employed contract (JB Robotics). ● I was assigned to this job as part of a three man team. ● We were responsible for the commissioning of a series of ABB robotic cells for the L405 Range Rover. ● As these lines were for the closures, I was exposed to new manufacturing processes. ● Various types of adhesive, self-piercing rivets, roller hemming as well as working with Aluminum.
Robot Programmer
2011 - 2011 |Expert Tooling
ABB robots, Spot welding
● Self-employed contract (JB Robotics). ● My first contract as a self employed programmer was to set up and commission two ABB spotwelding cells. ● Due to my previous experience I was also able to assist and complete the setting up of the welding equipment as well as adjusting / shimming the tooling to achieve stable, quality assemblies.
Senior Technician
2010 - 2011 |ThyssenKrupp Talent
PLC, Robots, Production lines
● As a result of the financial crisis our plant was closed to ensure our sister plants could continue to operate (Cannock / Newton Aycliffe). ● The production lines I was responsible for supplied vehicle components to IBC. ● Before redundancy was issued I took the opportunity to oversee the relocation of our equipment to IBC over a 6 month period. ● As the sole experienced technician from our team to undertake this endeavor, I was tasked with overseeing the re-installation and commissioning as well as creating and training a new team to maintain and ensure the continuous production for the next 18 months of the vehicle life. ● After this period I took a few months off where I took a solo road trip through Europe.
